Economy

PDS Drum Motor is one of the economical drives available, which gives a better return on investments within a year are two. It offers very high power to weight ratio, compared to any conventional motor gear system. The Drum Motor is hermetically sealed, hence no need of a regular periodic maintenance, except for oil changes every 5,000 operational hours (can be extended up to 20000 hours), thereby, reducing the maintenance cost for users and less down time.

Efficiency

PDS Drum Motor offers much higher efficiency for electrical motor to drum, since direct mounting of gearing on the drum shell offers very minimal friction losses guaranteed by the optimized gear pairs, gear flank grinding, polishing of rim gear and high contact ratios of the gear pairs. Propel Drum motors have a good thermal behavior.

Endurance

Gear materials used in PDS Drum motors are of high-quality alloy steel with high endurance properties. The Dynamic load ratings and rating lives of rolling bearings are high as they are procured from renowned manufacturers. Life cycle of Motor is much better than a conventional TEFC motor, since operating temperatures are less than the class of insulation. Insulation materials used for motor manufacturing is 2 times more than the declared class of Insulation, hence life cycle of motor is much better than a conventional TEFC motor with gearbox.
